“When Did You Get Hot?“ is a song by Sabrina Carpenter, from her seventh album, Man’s Best Friend. It was written by Sabrina Carpenter, Jack Antonoff, John Ryan and Amy Allen.
The song is about the astonishment of seeing a former acquaintance who has undergone a significant makeover and now looks extremely attractive. Sabrina starts being obsessive towards this person realizing how much they have changed over time, from forgettable and awkward to irresistibly appealing.
The track title was first teased on a mug in her “Manchild” music video. Later, as part of her revealing tracks campaign, X user @DECODESINK shared an image of her with the title with the caption:
“omg so happy & honored that sabrina wants me to reveal track #8 from Man’s Best Friend called “When Did You Get Hot?” 🩵🐾“
Shortly after, Carpenter reposted it, humorously confirming the track with nodding to the “Manchild” tease:
“track 8… waaaaitttt“
““When Did You Get Hot“ was a good example of a song that wouldn’t have been on the record if we didn’t take the time to sit down and, like, actually try things. It actually tried different versions of that song.“ — via Zane Lowe Interview
