“RAWFEAR” is about living in a state of constant motion driven by fear, where life is both the predator (nipping heels) and the jailer (gripping feels) for singer Tyler Joseph. Despite attempts to cope with it, he admits that he can’t escape the endless cycle of running, feeling and pretending.

The name “RAWFEAR” was first teased during the Clancy World Tour, before being confirmed as a song title in a post by Tyler on July 15, 2025 along with the entire Breach tracklist.

During listening events for the album, Tyler stated before the song began:

“I know I said that I wasn’t gonna interrupt very often, but here I am. This next song is called RAWFEAR. It has some of my favorite lyrics on the album, in the bridge especially, says “Learning all that really matters is a slow and painful lesson – It is not pass or fail but a poisonous progression – Try to micro-dose to immunity – But you will never ever get it.” This song does mean a lot to me and, uh, also the screaming in the beginning is my daughters, I just went up to them and said, “Girls, scream at me as loud as you can.” And I have a voice recording on my phone, and yeah, features them at the album. So, song’s called “RAWFEAR”.“
